As we often write on our sister blog for Benson & Bingham’s top accident attorneys in Las Vegas, wearing your seatbelt is critical to getting away from almost any accident as minimally damaged as possible. The number and type of accidents where a seatbelt would hurt is a tiny fraction compared to the number where it has or would help or has helped in dozens of accidents that we’ve looked into. Today we have another potential example of that as we see an accident in Northern Nevada, in Gardnerville, where a single vehicle accident left one elderly woman dead. The woman, as we so went out of our way to disguise, was not wearing her seatbelt. That was at least according to a trooper for the Nevada Highway Patrol, one David Gibson.

There is not a whole lot to tell about this car accident south of Reno, at least not yet. The fatal vehicle wreck happened yesterday in the middle of the afternoon. For as yet unknown reasons the 95 year old woman driving the vehicle, a Kio Rio Hunter, went off the highway and struck the wall on the side 580 before striking the other wall and finally coming to a rest.
